Blasts in Mumbai!

Mumbai, the financial capital of India was in trouble yet again. Not for any economic issues but as usual TERRORISM. Nothing is clear, who has done it, who has backed it, does Pakistan have a hand in it. But it is the news that no one wants to hear, as India has emerged as one of the stabilized economies, creating a value through the concept of Out-Sourcing, transforming the issue of 'Population' to 'Human work force'.

Kudos to the commando's who saved several people and minimized the disaster. Its time every INDIAN pledges/says to those terrorists, you can't divide us by doing these type of stupid activities.

Its time to get into action....

I have not been doing anything exceptional for the one and half years after joining Oracle. Took some time to learn the framework and working on a project for the latter part. Other than that i am not able to anything 'extra'. Was i missing the enthusiam?. Really don't have the answer. I thought, atleast i write something in blog, so that i can do something useful outside the job.

Lot of things have happened during this time. The whole/entire world is in recession, Stock markets have crashed. Elections in US and first Black President. What else?.. India winning 20-20 world cup, India thrashing Australia 2-0.
Looking forward to write lot of interesting stuffs and more importantly more regularly.

Moving from .Net world to java world...

Finally moved from SAP to Oracle (Everyone is astonished by this shift, as it was change/movement from one competitor to another competitor). But I am not taking anything from SAP, as I did not learn anything with respect to SAP technologies. Both are enterprise product giants, each having their own strong customer base.

I was working in C# earlier, but I would be working in java (the change I always liked as because of the usage of java in the enterprise world). Many people asked the same question. How were you able to change from C# to java? I too do not have the answer!

About my work in Oracle Corporation,
I would be working as a development guy in the CRM development team for Fusion in a team “Field Services Development”. The work would be on J2EE’s ADF (an application framework developed by Oracle Corporation and available free (not opensource) worldwide, web services and some database stuffs.

Personally, I always dreamed to be in Oracle Corporation oneday! My dreams were shattered during my final year of graduation, as I could not clear the interview process, even though I had a good score in the written test (was 7th in the list of 56 candidates selected in the written test and had a good go… in the interview round too). But I could not make it. It was one of the worst days in my life as far as I could remember! Not bad at all, I made it to the company a year later and that too to a good team.

Enjoying the first few weeks in Oracle Corporation. Hopefully after my initial set of trainings, I should be able to move all.

“Oracle Database” is astonishing, unbelievable and simply the best.
Wishing all the best for myself (to get motivated and enthusiastic). Keep rocking!

Enjoying life...

It has been a few weeks where i am just killing time, thinking about nothing and no coding at all.
A few things i am doing ...

Drinking lot of coffee... Passion for drinking life continues as i drink 8 to 10 coffees a day. Its has been from my childhood days i have been drinking lot of coffee. (The reason i am lean, might be due to this).

Reading lot of stuffs regarding motivation...
Theory is simple. When ur energy levels are higher, you perform a lot better. I am spending lot of time reading motivation stuff in the web. I am always inspired by great people. one such guy in recent times is SG Ganesh, one of my alumunus in my college who works in HP. He is .............
I heard from my friend, that he has written a book on motivation named "Little joy of motivation". I am desperately looking for someone who can lend me this book.

Days are not far off for coding for the upcoming release. Thinking a bit, how can i improve my work efficiency.

Thinking a lot about how to make your code smarter....
!.. Usage of good Data Structures based upon the scenario of usage.
!.. Good Design Patterns.
!.. Write Simple Code and only necessary code.
!.. Learn from the experience.

I am working out on a asynchronous design pattern. Like to share my ideas on it, once i am done with it.

Its been a free time for a while now.... I have done not any serious computing after november. Just spending some time in vacation and wasting time in office (Working very very little). Thinking a bit about future and want to spend most of my time alone (Strange but i myself don't know why?).

I was working on a POC (Proof of Concept) on buliding a local client cache data based on the advancedSearch. Its simply awesome API or function provided by microsoft.

Some of the techniques that is special about the API.

1) It does hierarchial search (From a folder, the search can be done on its subfolders also by just the one of the parameters as True.
2) It automatically spawns a thread, and generates a event once the search is completed.
(Nothing needs to be done by the programmer other than subcribing to the event).

I am working on structuring and generalizing the code, so that it can be used across all of CRM scenarios. It would really make a big difference to the project, if i could achieve this functionality.

Its been really great to work with 2 great guys Gaurav and Abhishek, who helped me a lot during the development.

Hoping to do more work on it...

Team outbound training to Coorg ...

Dec 14-Dec 16 was a big break after having a tough time for the past 2 months. We(41 of our team) started to the Coorg on Dec 14 afternoon for the team outbound training in Mahindra resort.

The activities were good that it help me us as a team and also as an individual. The food was good and the party in the nights also. The saying "we work hard and we also party too hard" was true 100% percent.

Life is an learning curve and these 2 days had a big impact on this curve.
Few learnings that would personally influence my life and career was identified in my part.
*) Panic : If i panic or feel frustrated, due to something, i will never suceed in completing the activity.(this was true in all the activities, we took up). HAVING A COOL HEAD WILL HELP A LOT IN THOSE SITUATIONS.

*) Communication : Communication is more important,.. Its just as simple as this.. Conveying what i am thinking to others ... We might have great ideas but unless we communicate, it is like without ideas.

*) Get to know people better and made some friends too...
These type of activities not only give a refreshing break but also have a great influence in the learning curve of our life.

Two great days in my life got over and Back to office and time to think a bit and take the learnings from the wonderful trip and march towards success.
